THE GODHEAD

 

There is one God (Elohim), who is infinitely perfect, powerful and knowledgeable as He manifests himself to us in the three aspects: Father (The LORD/Yahweh), Son (Jesus/ Yeshua) and Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh).

 

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

 

The Old Testament (Tanakh) and the New Testament (Brit Chadasha) is the inspired Word of God, which was spoken to and written by holy men of God as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit and is a complete revelation of God’s divine will, for the salvation of mankind.  We accept the Scriptures as our infallible and inerrant guide, pertaining to the conduct and doctrine of Christian (Messianic) Faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16-17). 

 

THE FALL AND REDEMPTION OF MAN

 

Man was created in the image of God, but Adam’s disobedience and failure, brought sin into the world.  Thus, all of mankind was born with a sinful nature, causing man to be separated from God.  Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) was manifested to undo this work of Satan.  Yeshua gave his life and shed his precious blood, that man might be redeemed and restored back into fellowship with God the Father.  Salvation is a gift of God to mankind and is only bestowed by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; separate from the works of the law.  The redeemed believer has a blessed hope and assurance, to everlasting life and joy with God.

 

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS AND THE SABBATH DAY

 

We believe in keeping the Ten Commandments which are written on our hearts and minds and thus binding on all New Covenant believers.  We believe that the seventh day, commonly called Saturday, is the Sabbath of God, who made the day holy at the beginning of the creation.  The Sabbath Day is the day of rest, sacred assembly and fellowship for praise, worship and Scriptural study.  As God’s day of rest, all mankind should rest with Him by refraining from servile work/labor.  Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath Day and the Word of God which created all things according to Matthew 12:8 & John 1:1-3.  Everything in creation exists in its order including the Sabbath (Colossians 1:16 & 17).

 

THE NEW BIRTH AND ETERNAL LIFE

 

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all who repent, believe in His name, and are born again of the Holy Spirit.  These become the Children of God and receive the gift of eternal life.  We believe in the preaching of the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah for it is the power of God unto salvation to the Jew first and also to the Greek/Nations.  This Gospel is also written in the Holy Scriptures for our teaching and instructions from the books of Genesis to Revelation.

 

SANCTIFICATION

 

The doctrine of sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace; commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until our death or Yeshua’s return.  Sanctification allows us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah (II Peter 3:18). 

 

INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

 

Yeshua assured His followers that he would send the Holy Spirit (The Comforter) to us before he ascended into Heaven.  It is the will of God, that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit, be sanctified completely, and be separate from sin and the world; thereby receiving power for holy living, effective service and dedicated to the will of God.  We believe that the gifts of the Holy Ghost are for all believers, the edification of the body of Messiah, obedience to God’s commandments, teachings and instructions.

 

WATER BAPTISM

 

Water baptism (Mikveh) is by immersion and was performed by Yeshua to provide an example for believers.  This observance is a symbol of the believer’s identification with the Messiah in His death, burial and resurrection.  This observance also symbolizes that the believer has left the body of sins (the old life) in the grave and rises to newness of life in the Messiah.

 

THE LORD’S SUPPER AT PASSOVER

 

We believe that Yeshua, our Passover Lamb, was crucified and died for our sins on a Wednesday.  He rose from the dead at the end of the Sabbath (on late Saturday before sundown) to fulfill three days and three nights in the grave.  He ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding as our Mediator and High Priest.  The Lord’s Supper, commonly called Holy Communion, was established during Passover by Yeshua.  It is to be observed annually as a feast of God as we remember his body which was given for us and the precious blood that was shed for the remission of our sins.  We believe in the ordinance of foot washing during this annual observance as Yeshua taught his disciples to demonstrate humility and forgiveness among themselves.

 

DIVINE HEALING

 

Healing is a divine gift for the physical and spiritual ills of the human body.  Yahweh’s healing power is manifested through the prayer of faith, the laying on of hands and anointing with oil in the name of Yahweh as taught in the Scriptures.  Healing provides for the atoning and redemptive work of Yeshua in this present age.

 

THE CONGREGATION/CHURCH

 

The Congregation is the body of believers in Yeshua the Messiah who are redeemed by his precious blood atonement and are born again of the Holy Spirit.  Messiah is the Head of the Congregation/ Church/Body, which he commissioned to go into the entire world and proclaim the Gospel to all nations for a witness.  The Church is to operate, under Yeshua’s headship, in the greater corporate Body of Christ worldwide, regionally or the local assembly. 

 

YESHUA THE MESSIAH’S RETURN AND HIS MILLENNIAL REIGN

 

We believe in the imminent return of Yeshua at which time He will resurrect his righteous dead from their sleep.  Yeshua will then catch away both the resurrected ones and the living believers, worldwide, up to the clouds of Heaven to be with Him.  He shall return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and set up His kingdom and reign over the earth for one thousand years.  The seat of His throne will be at Mount Zion in Jerusalem, Israel.  During this millennium, Satan will be bound and cast into the bottomless pit.  After this time, he will be loosed and allowed to deceive the nations one last time culminating in God defeating the rebellion and casting Satan into the Lake of Fire (Hell Fire).  This will be at the great white throne judgment.  Yeshua will reward His saints at His return, during the first resurrection, starting at the millennium.  Yeshua will reward the righteous who lived during the millennium at the great white throne judgment.  The rest of the dead, who did not make it into the first resurrection and those whose names are not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be tossed into the lake of fire and brimstone which is called the second death. 

 

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION

 

Hell is a literal place which was reserved for the devil and his angels.  It is also where unjust sinners, who are hopelessly lost by refusing to accept Yeshua as Lord and Savior, will be placed.  At the time of the great white throne judgment, unbelievers will be eternally separated from God and cast into the lake of fire and Brimstone.

 

RIGHTEOUS ACTS OF MERCY AND SUPPORT

 

We believe in helping the poor and suffering wherever we can and lend a helping hand of support.  We also believe in visiting the sick and shut in providing prayer, encouragement, preaching and singing God’s praise in songs, hymns and spiritual songs.

 

MARRIAGE

 

We believe in Holy Matrimony.  According to The Holy Scriptures, marriage was instituted by God at the beginning of the creation and it is the union of one man being joined to one woman as husband and wife.  We also believe that sex, and its enjoyment, was designed by God for marriage according to the Scriptures.  Marriage is designed to demonstrate the relationship of Christ/Messiah to his bride the Church.

 

CLEAN FOODS

 

We believe in eating foods which God has declared to be clean and abstaining from eating unclean meats/foods such as swine’s flesh (pig/pork), shellfish and rodents.  

 

GOVERNMENT

 

We believe in respect, prayer and righteous living toward our government and give God thanks for our nation as all power comes from God according to the Scriptures.  We believe in supporting our government and its officials wherein it does not conflict with the Word of God.

 

CONTRIBUTIONS: TITHES, OFFERINGS AND CONTRIBUTIONS

 

We believe in tithing, freewill offerings and donations as a privilege to give unto God.  These gifts will help the growth and support of Clement Grove Church of God 7th Day operations and its ministries/missions.  Records of contributions shall be maintained by the Secretary and Treasurer with annual statements provided to all supporters at the end of the calendar year.
